Photographing the continuation of the new Nixon images in the Stockholm studio for a few days. Sorry cleaning crew for making a mess!

Continuing the european leg of the Burton womens campaign tour. Working with a funky mish mash mix of props to create an inside/outside feel. In Saas fee we got great help from the locals such as Tilo and friends. Also worth mentioning is first assistant Nicklas local knowledge that saved us from drowning in swiss cheese fondu. That is the knowledge one needs at least 7-8 years living in Saas Fee to master. Thanks Nicklas! It dont save you from hitting your head on booms though (see pic). Anyways, the first ad of 6 is out now in Nylon magazine just hot from the presses, go check it out!

Making the new campaign images for the shoe brand Gram. Making our way around the hot urban landscape of Stockholm. Making good use of the strong natural sunlight cutting the asphalt like razor blades.

In this massive 800 Square meter studio shooting tiny headphones in Portland. This town is great for productions like this feels a bit like an american version of Berlin. If you are ever in Portland be sure to head up east on Burnside to Heart coffee and roasting. The coffee was so good that some of the crew burst into tears and this is a guy that did not even cry watching Dancer in the dark!

Photographing the new womens campaign for Burton at Mt Hood, Oregon. Right on the spot were Jack Nicholson got lost in a maze in the movie The Shining. Redrum! After a wet and windy start it all turned out real sweet and everybody got tanned on their noses nicely. The girls behaved and the local photographer friend Neil Dacosta helped out making sure everything ran smoothly. Big thanks to Lance and Vanessa at Violette Design.

Out at independent studios photographing set designer Allansons huge spetzial build for a home appliance testing session of a slightly different kind.

Working on second series of images for the clothing brand Protest. Using snowboarders as human tripods to shoot the clothes while snowboarding. Thanks to Metec productions and all the great people in Kläppen making it a delight to work there.

Working in the studio to do two new headphone images for Nixon.

Working together with Dan and David at Bunnskog Karcenti on the campaign images for the Swedish shoe brand Gram. On location in fine artist Pär Strömbergs day light studio. Very beautiful.

Working a few days on some new Urbanears campaign images. Some new colors and new products. Also the intern Tobias Rengman helped out all week making some coffee, getting important things and untangle stuff. Thanks Tobias and see you again in March!

So much snow in Stockholm and -11°C. More than we have ever experienced in Stockholm. We are taking the opportunity to make some landscapes.

We are looking for an full-time assistent promptly.
You are orderly, ambitious and have a good eye for photography and the will to learn.

Requirements:
- Digital/analog camera knowledge
- Very confident in handling computers, Capture One, Photoshop and so on.
- Drivers licence
- Be able to speak english.

Photographing the campaign for the clothing company called Protest. Working together with Kessels Kramers Art director Ewoudt and producer Marla. Azerbadjanne (Jan Andreen) making it happen on location in Stockholm and a great crew of runners, helpers, electricians, riders and models. We thank you all!
4 days of location work in December in Stockholm can be quite something with only 3 hrs or so of something they call day light here.

Lovely getting out in the woods again. Working with a sort of moving still image. Very interesting. This time with so much gear a 35mm production requires at night, and that is quite a bit! Serious amount of carrying gear! Will do grading and editing the next couple of weeks. This production will probably see the light of day some time in spring 2010. Working with the skilled cinematographer David Grehn and renaissance man Allanson working around the set.

Been photographing a few more days of large still lifes in the fall weather. What´s more beautiful than this flat natural light? Also, sadly, the last week of intern Crista who will now go back to Andorra. Hopefully she´ll be back soon!

Shooting and directing the new campaign and look book for the brand new headphone brand Urbanears. Together with the great interns Crista and Magnus with supervision from Magnus, the elder, it all went real well. Involving set builder Allanson again is always a delight.

Vernissage for the show called Eternal return. Friday the 16/10 at 19:00 at the Magasinet in Falun, Sweden. Exhibiting the whole Lightyears series together with other artists, designers, stylists and creatives in general that grew up in the hometown Falun. During the day there will be talks and such.

In the making of a new series of X-large still lifes. Together with Tobias Allanson we build a large object of many objects. The series will be up under work soon!

ModArt Magazine, A Celebration of 20 Issues & All That Lay Ahead. Featured in a group show at Thinkspace Gallery in Los Angeles. Opening reception on the 14th of August 7-11PM.

Been working on directing a little poetic film last few days. Together with Niklas Bergh, Samuel Axelsson, Pierre Wikberg and Johan Efrik. A free project on comission from KesselsKramer in Amsterdam and art director Ewoudt.

Working in the studio through out the next few days on a series of still lifes. Trying to create something that balances back and forth and looks like a thought.

In Zurich for two days. Making some new Freitag imagery. Besides some nice work and sunshine -  a lovely afternoon swim in Limmat!

Continuing the work on a new series of images in the forest. It has been so exciting to work on these this last year. A bit of production for sure but it comes together in a good way. Probably these will see the light of day around January 2010. Thanks to Stefan Karlsson for putting in a solid day of work and helping out.

The opening with Selector magazine was good fun! Showed selected works from the Lightyears series. Had a great turn out of interesting people from all over. Drinks were drank, and Karaoke was sung into the morning! Thanks evreybody that made it so amazing! Had some nice strolls in the area around the gallery in Aoyama. The Prada building by Herzog & de Meuron is amazing. The Louis Vuitton store is interesting as well with instalations and films by Takashi Murakami.

The first stop of the Selector tour is in Tokyo, Japan. Opening reception on the 9th of May at the PLSMIS. Together with artists such as John Copeland, Nathan  Nedorostek, Taro Hirano, Paul Wong and Mario Hugo. Invitation here.

Back up in the north of Sweden to continue a series of images and doing some new tests. With the help of family and assistants Magnus & Magnus we got a nice collection of images. After the days we all headed north for a bit of airtime in the world class Kläppen snowpark. That´s how we roll at Vincent Skoglund Studio!

Shooting a story for the magazine "Transition" we tried the slightly cooler triathlon Surfing, Skating and Snowboarding. It is apparently possible in Stockholm. That said, it was a fair bit rougher than the californian Surfing and skating Venice beach and then going up to Big bear resort for snowboarding. Wet snow coming down horizontal makes things more interesting though.

Exclusively photographing the Fever Ray concert and the preparations backstage in Stockholm at Kägelbanan. The show meet the high expectations, really amazing!

The Nixon campaign was recently nominated for the best Marketing Campaign by SIMA (Surf Industry Manufacturers Association) Check them all out here. Also worth checking is the nice footage from Jared Eberhart shot during the production of the images.

Shooting in Milano and Zurich with Freitag. Can´t complain with some 20°+ and great food as always in Milano.

Starting an collaboration with the Swiss based company Freitag for the continuation of 2009. They have a really interesting story and concept of manufacturing their products. It is all made of recyceled materials such as truck tarp, bicycle inner tubes and seatbelts. Even the store in Zurich is made along the same lines, built of reused containers. Spending the friday in Zurich shooting the first series images.

Loading up the production van and heading north to Ottsjö, about 40 km from Åre, Sweden. A lovely little place with not much going on except the snow coming down or the sun just shining on it. This time for a Shoot together with Daniel Löfvenborg from Stockholm design lab for SAS. 3 bluebird days with -20° later we had shot an nice collection of landscapes. The one day off included long 3 course lunch on restaurang Hummeln and some real radical moves jibbing the speedskiing net in the world class downhill course.

At it again with Nixon. This time wrapping up the campaign with the last 2 ads. Another paint splasher, with swirls, and some balloon popping action. Our steel blue eyed producer Jan got the blues after this shoot.

This room has saved many lives. Kind of a scary place at the same time, the trauma room at Karolinska hospital in Stockholm. Photographing the room for a documentation about the hospital.

It´s a beautiful day out in the Stockholm archipelago. Scooping and shooting a new series of Images. Super slow technique and quite relaxing.

Making a portray of Stockholm for the american new supergroup type of magazine called "Selector" has been last few days delight. Just having a bit of fun with fine Swedish foods. A portrait of popstar Andreas Kleerup in candy, Pyttipanna from Pelikan, Acne Advertising^s costumes and Böckling. Just about a full dinner right there. The magazine is also featuring the Lightyear series.

Late afternoon shoot. Making an image for the Swedish fashion mag Rodeo Great clothes by Burton and the Japanese designer Hiroshi Fujiwara. Finding our way out to Hellasgården outside Stockholm to find a little peace and fresh snow.

Snow beyond the ordinary is falling all over europe. A series of fantastic trips to northen scando land and the alps. Not only collecting a little imagery but more so riding the best pow in years with great friends.

The book "Defenition - art and design of hip-hop" by Cey Adams just came in the mail yesterday. Featuring the shot above and some other stuff. This book is packed with content, time goes by quick.

Back at it again with the crew doing the new ads for spring summer 2009. Shooting at our studio in Stockholm this time. Still life and small quirky, beautiful, random and colorful sets made by prop man and artist Tobias Allansson. Art director Michael Carter straight from SoCal doing art directing between snusing and eating swedish candy (that supposed to be for the props). We all got a deeper understanding why it is called non-stop.  

Today we shot 2 brand new images for Nixon again. It will run as billboards in Australia, and turned out to be one of the favourites throughout the whole campaign. Will be up under comission soon. 

Catching the last bit of Swedish summer, mosquitos included, while shooting the main feature for Peak performance magazine. The series are featuring the great skier Henrik Winstedt. A really lovely day, not to forget shooting with the Linhof 5x4 is so fantastic. Slow and nice. Tones, colors and grads.  

Hooking up with the Swedish Acne Advertising art director Erik Olovsson. We went on a mission to photograph a few images for a company in the field of automotive service business. Driving around quite a bit to get into the travelling mode one only can after a few hours behind the wheel. In this dreamy state we created some nice blurry landscapes and night time sleepscapes.
